This week we’ve had some interesting shocks and changes in rankings compared to the unconfirmed update of Google’s search rankings from June that was really abrupt the day before or so. Google News has updated its design, added more features and customizations, and re-launched in Spain. Google has updated its help documents regarding Googlebot indexing, job postings and moved HTTP status documentation, Google has also clarified how to use rich product tag tags on product variants. Google has said that content that is not visible on the page is no longer considered less important. Google also said that dashes in URLs as keyword separators are still recommended over underlining. Google Local Services ads require five or more views for certain types of services. Google Ads will fix the Maximum Performance product listing card to allow you to compare reports. Google Shopping Ads seems to be testing the insertion of material-related queries into the ad title. Google has added a new business attribute owned by LGBTQ + to Google’s business profiles. Google’s nearby store search feature is tested in an expandable menu. Google tests rounded favicons in search results. Bing tests secure and HTTPS tags in its search results. Google is testing two rows of cluster brand story stories. Google also tests bold domain names in the snippet. Google has released an interactive Google Search infographic timeline since it was launched. Google is testing YouTube shorts for ancillary content, while John Mueller is shortening his working hours to just once a month. And if you want to help sponsor those roles, go to patreon.com/barryschwartz. That was the news of this week’s search on the Search Engine Roundtable.
